The Foundation Course  is Stage 1, Part 1 of the 1 year course (the first 6 days)

It has been noted that intensive periods of study really enhance a student’s ability and confidence in shiatsu, as it creates deeper connection, involvement, and embodiment of the underlying principles; this is why there are two such periods in the 1 year course.

(However please note the above dates are not written in stone and with the groups’ agreement they may be slightly adjusted should circumstances dictate)

The course will teach all the patterns and fundamental techniques along with the principles of shiatsu and Oriental Medical Theory to a level where you can perform a high-quality shiatsu massage and help keep your friends and family feeling balanced and in a state of well-being.

This course is designed for both those who have some massage skills and for complete beginners.   The course consists of 20 days spread over a period of approximately 7 months with two intensive periods of study/practice.  A final day of assessment is then arranged once all the work has been completed.  It is designed to then continue on to the 3 year diploma course for those who wish to deepen their studies.

In addition to the main modules in shiatsu and its theory there is an additional module in Anatomy and Physiology for those who might require it (See below).   This module is not necessary for those who already hold an ITEC qualification in massage or its equivalent.  If people wish to use it as a review a discount may be applicable.
